SALAPERANTHA: THE EIGHT-LEGGED WONDER

A whimsical children’s book illustration project created for Salaperantha: The Eight-Legged Wonder, written by Jacqueline Khoenle. The project involved developing the visual world of Salaperantha, an eight-legged spider with a distinctive personality, and bringing her adventures on the farm to life through colorful, expressive illustrations.

The illustrations combine playful character design, textured digital artwork, and imaginative environments to create a warm and engaging visual language for young readers. From the farm and barnyard scenes to quieter character moments and more dynamic story sequences, each illustration was designed to support the narrative and capture the personality and humor of the story.

The project included the creation and development of the characters, environment design, full-page illustrations, double-page spreads, and cover artwork, creating a cohesive visual identity throughout the book.

Beyond the illustrations, the project also included the design and development of the book’s website and the creation of a book trailer, extending the visual identity of Salaperantha beyond the printed book and into digital media.
